An exploration of identity and individuality from two distinct design communities - Mexico & the Nordics: A Meditation on Individuality in Craft, Tradition, & Modernism discusses the intersection of cultural authenticity, tradition, and contemporary influence. Through their practices, designers across both of these regions work to address the main issues facing our society today, from material innovation to responsible consumption, preservation of craft tradition to pushing experimental aesthetics.
Featuring artists from Mexico - Ayres mx, Perla Valtierra, piedrafuego.mx, PopDots, Oscar Hagermann, Rituales Mx, Estudio Pomelo, & Tributo; Denmark - Artsign, Jonas Edvard Studio, Stine Mikkelsen, & Troels Flensted; Finland - Veera Kulju; Iceland - Ragna Ragnarsdottir; Norway - Kim Thomé & Pettersen & Hein; and Sweden - Kajsa Willner, Lotta Lampa, & Åsa Jungnelius.
